Ghost Race Grand Prix
Making the most of our fitness in the time of social distancing
With most (or all) spring races canceled or postponed (the Wedge Run 10k is no exception), there are a great deal of runners in the Asheville area with an abundance of fitness, energy to burn, and no obvious goal in the short-term. As the CDC defines it, Social Distancing means remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible. With this in mind, we need to avoid group workouts and organized time trials as we all try to do our part to flatten the curve. So, what can you do with that pent up energy and built up fitness?
The Asheville Running Collective is creating a Ghost Race Grand Prix as a means of promoting a competitive outlet for the community in a responsible, sensitive manner.
