The Asheville Running Collective is teaming up with our friends from Sir Walter Running in Raleigh to host a Western NC edition of their popular Sir Walter Miler Pop Up Miles.  We are lucky to be one of the first events held on the brand-new, state-of-the-art Montreat College track.

This is a bare-bones, no-frills, FREE event open to all.  We will keep the time, call splits, and provide some pacers.  You show up and run hard.

This event will serve as the Asheville Qualifier in the Pop Up Miles series. The top two fastest men and women in WNC will qualify for the Pop Up Mile Championship in Raleigh on Tuesday, June 28th.  The winner of the men's and women's championship will earn the final spot in the Sir Walter Miler Elite Race on Friday, August 5th. 

The race will be divided into two or three sections... most likely a sub-5:30 section and an over-5:30 section.  This may depend on entries.  However, it doesn't matter if you run a 3:43 mile or a 13:43 mile - there will be a place for you on the starting line.
