Wedge Run 10k

saturday, May 5th

It's a celebration

2018 is the ten-year anniversary of Wedge Brewing. What better way is there for a running club to celebrate than hosting a race?!

We've partnered with Wedge and whole bunch of other great local businesses and organizations to put on a fun day at the Foundation. We've got a fast 10k, a spectator-friendly kids race, food trucks, live music, and Wedge Brewing beer.  To top it off, we are very excited to work with Girls on the Run WNC and their SoleMates program.

Race Course

After six years of hosting the weekly Wedge Run, we've had plenty of time to plan out our ideal race course. It's out-and-back, flat-and-fast, skips the dreaded dog park loop, and ends at a brewery.

Race Day Info

Since this is a celebration there needs to be a party. We've got that covered with a live band, food trucks, and a great outdoor space at the Wedge at Foundation.

We want the whole family to be involved, so there will be a kids one-mile race following the 10k road race. The kids course will consist of two half-mile laps circling the brewery to maximize crowd support.

Supporting Local Non-Profits

Finally, this event is a great opportunity to support local non-profits. The race will benefit the Asheville Running Collective, a 501(c)3 running club focused on growing the sport of competitive distance running in Western North Carolina. The ARC has partnered with Girls on the Run WNC's SoleMates program to raise scholarship money for young runners in WNC.

More info on the SoleMates program can be found here.

Girls on the Run WNC spring participants will receive free entry into the kids race. We hope this one-mile run will serve as a nice tune-up for the Girls on the Run 5k on May 20th.
